- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I had trouble since the beginning. She denied my FMLA intermittent leave for work saying "pregnancy is not a medical condition in which you would need to miss work". Unfortunately, I had a terrible first and half of the second trimester. Without my paperwork approved and absolutely unable to work, I lost my job. Throughout the rest of my visits, she was very in and out. This being my first pregnancy, I had a lot of questions. After all of her answers turned into yes or no without any detail or explanations to things, I stopped bothering to ask and just googled everything. At my 31 week visit, I had high protein, a substantial weight gain in a short amount of time, enormous swelling to the point of pain, and elevated blood pressure. All signs of preeclampsia. I was asked to come back in a week. I did not make it a week. 4 days later, I was life flighted to OSF in Peoria for severe preeclampsia, and had to have an emergency c-section 4 days later at 32 weeks. I feel as though if she would have been more concerned and listened to everything I came to her about from the beginning to the end, I could have had a different outcome.
